Individualised Help for Carers

The Lonsdale Trust Wallasey is an independent registered charity which cares for older people and offers respite for their carers. The Trust has been operating in one form or another for almost 60 years.

The Trustees and their CEO, Elizabeth O'Brien, have decided to invest in an innovative service which will be of direct benefit to any carers (ie not just those who care for older people). This service will involve the following:-

Offering a free meeting space for carers groups to meet
Providing free facilities for small groups of individual carers to meet informally
Offering a range of therapies for carers, including reflexology and the like
Providing a therapy room at the Trust's HQ on Seabank Road in Wallasey
Offering a range of life coaching and mentoring services either to individuals or small groups
All these services are offered FREE OF CHARGE.

The Trust has invested time and money in offering these services and these innovations have also been recognised with a grant from the PCT's 3rd Sector Innovation Fund (Community Foundation for Merseyside).

If you are interested - or know of a carer who might benefit from these unique services - please contact the Trust on 630 4017 or email Liz O'Brien direct on ceo@lonsdaletrustwallasey.org.uk

Community Foundation for Merseyside/Primary Care Trust 3rd Sector Innovation Fund

The Chairman and the Board of Trustees are delighted to announce that the Trust was successful in its bid to fund innovative services for the elderly and carers. These will include extending our respite services at the Lonsdale Centre and offering new services for all carers (not restricted to those who look after the elderly). Please email for further details.

Awards for All

The Trust was recently given £10,000 from the National Lottery Awards for All scheme. We will now be able to purchase a new bath and refurbish the bathing service at one of our centres. Grateful thanks to everyone who contributed to this essential fundraising campaign - it is largely owing to your generosity that we were able to make a sucessful application
